Questions, answered.
For buyers ordering from a Makert shop, and for makers thinking about getting one built.
For buyers
How do I pay for an order?
You pay the maker directly — Makert never handles the money for an order and takes no cut. After you place an order, the maker shows you how they like to be paid (often Venmo, Zelle or cash at pickup). Makert is not a party to the sale.
Is Makert a marketplace or a payment processor?
No. Makert builds and hosts each maker their own online shop. Every order is directly between you and that maker. Makert does not process payments, hold funds, or take commission.
How do I change or cancel an order?
Contact the maker directly. Each shop shows the maker's details, and after ordering you can message them through your order page. Because the maker fulfils and is paid directly, any changes, refunds or cancellations are arranged with them.
Do I need an account to order?
No. Checkout is guest-friendly — you only need to leave your name and contact details so the maker can reach you about your order. You can optionally save your details with a password for next time.
For makers
What does Makert cost a maker?
A one-off $300 to design and build your shop, then a flat $15 a month to host it and run your dashboard. There is no commission — Makert never takes a cut of your sales.
How do I get a shop?
Makert is done-for-you. Tell us about what you make using the request form and we build your shop for you at yourname.makert.co. There is no self-serve sign-up — we set it up so it looks right from day one.
How do my customers pay me?
However you already take payment — Venmo, Zelle, cash, your choice. Orders come in through your shop; you arrange payment with the buyer directly and keep 100%. Makert only bills you the monthly fee, by card, through Stripe.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time. Your shop subscription is month to month, and your catalogue and order data are always yours to export or take with you.
